  3. I had many a headache over this issue in the beginning. Now I always just make sure I name the file .avi instead of .vdr (as someone already said) and give both the frameserver name and file a very short name (for example "a.avi"). Long names, especially with special characters, confuse TMPGEnc sometimes. Works every time for me.
