  1. I've found some great info and learned a lot of great tricks working with Xcopy, IFOedit and Vobrator and now I have a few last questions.

I have HP DVD writer and use the HP Record Now software with it and I don't think that I can just copy the VOB and IFO files to it and make it a playable DVD, or can I?

After closing Xcopy I can't copy from the HDD to DVD drive so that's out of the question. Any suggestions?

Must I copy the VOB files that contains the misc. warnings, trailers, and ads to the DVD even though they won't be used due to the VOBrator editing?

    Thank you,

Im sorry I cant help you but I was just wondering, have you had any problems with slight pauses using dvdxcopy and also what do you use ( express, platnum)? I dont care anything about editing I just want to back up my collection and I tend to get slight pauses throughout the movie most times. If you have any idea why this might be happening, I would like the input. THANKS

  3. I started with Xcopy 1.4.1 early 2003 then got sucked in to upgrading. I like the Express version because it gives just the movie but I don't like that long 321 advertsiz…err warning. I need simple disposable backups for the little one that he can just insert and play.

Since I upgraded to express I got Platinum free but still haven't received an answer from 321 as how to get passed the registration error. Their phone line just puts you on hold while they brainwas …err advertise your ear off. I ended up emailing and asked for my $ back but I'm not hopeful.

I don't recall any pauses I've had off hand but I haven't had a successful double disk work out yet either. I have had problems once in a while with pauses 15min into copying (to the HD before burning) but I think a disk cleaning took care of that.

Hope you get an answer to your puzzle, I know I sure would like to know how to get these files on to a playable DVD+R before I waste another disk experimenting. Maybe today I'll find the right guide.

Not sure this will help but you might try 'copytodvd', I used it once and I know if you choose the option to burn a dvd video it asks you for a file...ISO or VOB...I cant remember wait...its the 'video_ts.ifo'... I just looked, I hope this helps but I am still a beginner!
