Hello everyone! I really hope someone here can help me with this audio sync problem! I used to think it was my Pinnacle capturing software, but now I'm thinking otherwise. When I capture through Scenalyzer, I have the same problem! It seems the audio is coming just before the video. If it wasn't so noticable, I wouldn't worry about it as much. When ever anyone says anything with the letter "m" or "p" (you know the letters you have to close your mouth for!) - you can hear them say it before their mouth is open. If I go into a video editor, I can movie the audio back about 3 to 4 frames, and it's perfect - but that takes me a lot of time! Does anyone have any idea what I can do! I'll probably be checking this post all night to see if someone can help! I'm capturing from a Pinnacle AV/DV card on to an additional 160GB hard drive. It looks like this..
It only captures straight DV files. I can't change the frame rate or anything like that. At Scenalyzer, I can change the audio rate (48/44/32)
but that doesn't seem to do anything either. Here's some of the things I've tried over and over..
Defragmented both drives / Closed all other programs manually and with EnditAll2 / Used Hardware Acceleration / Rendered as a Background Task / Set my computer to pay more attention to background programs / set my computer to best performance / uninstalled and reinstalled capturing software over and over / download every new patch and hardware update / Went to Task Manager and set capturing software to realtime / Installed the lastest audio driver updates / Installed the Intel Application Accelerator / Moved the capturing card to different slots in the computer / captured with Audio in Sync box checked and unchecked / captured with and without auto scene detection... Woo! That's all I can think of right now!
- Thank you so much for reading my long post! I really hope someone can help me! I've seen other people with this problem in the forums, but they've always had different hardware. My card only lets me capture from Pinnacle Studio and Scenalyzer. (so far absolutely nothing else.. Virtual Dub, VirtualVCR, etc) They've always been able to fix it with something that doesn't apply to me. Thanks again! Bye!

- Oh! I almost forgot! I almost never capture from a camcorder. I only capture from VHS tapes, most of the time. (I guess you'd call it analog)
Here's some more pictures showing what I have to work with..
