    Hi,
    I just got the liteon 411s, and i am using it with a usb2 ext. enclosure. I just downloaded there firmware upgrade patch and upgraded it. But how i check if the upgrade accually worked? I downloaded there "smart-burn" software and it shows the "release date 10/27/2003" does that mean it wasn't updated?

    Install Nero Burning ROM and use the Nero InfoTool application. It will tell you everything and a whole lot more than you ever wanted to know about all the drives connected to your computer including the firmware revision number.
