  1. i been trying to read a lot of post in this forum but i just could get the exact answer.

What is the best resolution should i use to capture video in .avi format for editing and final output to VCD?

i been trying 320x240 but it seems the quality is a little bit low... i tried 740x480 but now i got capturing problems... lots of drop-frames during capture.

is there a resolution between 320x240 and 740x480 that i could consider to use?

    thanks!

  2. Good day.

You didn't mention what capture card and software you are using to capture in AVI format.

720x480, 640x480, 352x240, could be your options. ( VCD resolution is 352x240 so capturing at 320x240 will definitely produce lower quality video.)

Back in the day when I was doing VCD I had that problem, see if you can capture @ 480x480, then you just resize using Avisynth or tmpg or what ever other app you may be using
