  1. Is it possible to author and burn a DVD that plays on stand alone DVD players but that also contains data files/application that can be autolaunched upon insertion in a Computer?

Yep. Just put data files in the root folder or some other folders than the AUDIO_TS or VIDEO_TS.

  4. OK I tried it and it worked great . . . on my computers DVD player, but NOT on my stand alone player (Sony DVP NS415). I've burnt other DVDs that have worked but this one didn't. Curious as to whether adding the data files in addition to the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS subfolders screwed it up> Any advice?

  6. It's my thoughts that the player should ignore the extra folders on the disk which of course means the player should ignore the files in the folder.

However I have at least one player that plays anything, mp3, mpegs, DVD, Vcd ect.. and since it shows the contents of the disk obviously this player does read the folders When there is no Video_ts folder to read.
However I haven't made an Mp3 AND DVD on the same disk yet, so I don't know how the player would handle that?

I have created a folder with data files on a DVD, it worked normal.
