I currently have an avermedia card in my pc. It is hooked to my vcr as well as my satelite reciever. I have many vhs tapes that I need to convert to vcd's. I am using winvcr 2.5 plus. For some reason when I try to capture I get the following message.
"Winvcr can not capture using the currently selected video format. Currently only YUY2 & UYVY are supported."
I have it set at the following :
VideoCD
Encoder : MPEG 1 (also tried MPEG2, but same outcome)
Quality High
NO Preview
Video Noise Reduction Enabled.
I have been able to capture many things with the same settings in the past but for some reaso I am now getting this message. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything I could think of. But with no luck. Is their a certain codec I am missing that will enable me to record in MPEG 1 and MPEG 2. I really don't want to cap in avi and then convert them to vcd & svcd. I don't have any time to do this. I also tried powervcr, but it doesn't recognize my video card. I tried removing the card and reinstalling it as well. But still nothing. I did try virtual vcr, but for some reason nothing could recognize the format it recorded in. Not aviedit, Vdub or tmpgenc. Any help would be appreciated.
