  1. Hi

Just received my ADVC-100 and connected it up to my VCR (PAL) but I'm not getting anything. Unfortunately I don't have any outputs on my VCR other than SCART. I've got a neat little connector to convert my scart socket to RCA but no signal. I've checked the ADVC using a DVD player and it works fine. Tried changing the PAL/NTSC switch. Can't see what else it could be. Any suggestions?

I'm connecting to a Mac through firewire and I'm using iMovie.

    Cheers.

My scart/composite adapter has a output/input switch, does yours?
(clutching at straws, I know), but I've just bought the ADVC too and use the same procedure as you.

  3. Don't think it does. Maybe it only works for input. I've only ever used it to record from DV to VHS before.

    One avenue to explore.
    I'm betting it's imput only.
    Good luck

Plug the leads into your TV first - if you get a picture, then you can output.
