Hey people.
Im about to encode a movie into an MPG file and as some of you may know, sometimes, when encodeing trough Virtual Dub, you have to use a wav sound instead the avi files original sound. I know how to copy the sound, but when copying it wile the setup is on "full proccesing mode", the file gets huge and with my little hard disk, i couldent fit that and all the other files (PC files, AVI file, the soon to be encoded mpg file....) on it. On direct stream copy, the sound will be delayd, makeing it very unpleasent to watch the movie.
SO, my question would be this: is there a way to copy the sound, without the file getting so big and without the delay???

What if you frameserve both A + V to your encoder?

How to FrameServe with Virtualdub
How to frameserve (dvd2avi / VirtualDub / Avisynth / VFAPI)

I know how to FrameServe, Ive done it before, but I dont know what you mean by "frameserveing both A + V"

If VDub has no problem reading the audio in the AVI, there's no need for extracting it at all. Just frameserve.

NOW, if I copy the sound to wav, with <<direct stream copy>>, its still delayed, the only time it isnt, is when the wav is copyd with <<full proccesing mode>> on, in wich case, the file becomes over 1GB, in size.insane scientist -
You could extract it with vdub, full processing mode, but select an codec other than uncompressed. An Mp3 codec should suffice, TmpGenc should be able to read those files.
Or set audio full processing mode, Compression none but frameserve that along with the video rather than save as wav -

Thanx, I also found a way, to get the file smaller in VB, by turning the quality down.

1Gb for a movie sound file is standard when uncompressed to wav. you have a severe disc space problem, get bigger disc!
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.
