I've got a question regarding my new DVD Writer and VCD's.
I've got many VCD's (MPEG 1) on my PC (e.g. Friends episodes). I rip the tv-series directly into the VCD Format (working fine with my hardware). Usually I use Nero 5.5 to create a VCD with 3 episodes on it (inc. menu and picture).
Now i would like to have many of those VCD's on one DVD.
Instead of having 3 episodes it could be around 20 on one DVD. Is there a way to do it? Nero won't let me write VCD on a DVD (as far as I've seen). Do I need some other tools to do that?
Thanks for your help.

AFAIK vcd mpeg1 is a valid dvd resolution so the raw mpeg files could be imported into any authoring DvD package.

Just follow the guide at https://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr.htm and you'll be fine. Here's an outline of the process (very simple).
1) Use VCDGear or VCD Easy (tool) to generate a MPEG1 file from your VCD DAT file. NO NOT just drag/drop DAT file to HD and re-name *.mpg While this often works a DAT file and a MPEG1 file are not quite the same thing.
2) Use TMPGenc to demux the MPEG1 file into sepeare m1v (video) and mp2 (audio) streams.
3) D/load SSRC and tooLame. Use TMPGenc as a GUI for tooLame and SSRC to re-sample the audio from 44.1khz to 48khz. Make sure you choose to encode ONLY THE AUDIO with TMPGenc, the m1v video file is fine
4) Author DVD using m1v and 'resampled 48khz mp2' file
5) Burn
I've dumped quite a few VCDs onto a single DVDR this way with out any major problems. If you want to be really safe you can convert the 44.1khz mp2 file to a 48khz ac3 file:
