  1. Ok, I am new to DVD authoring, and giving DVDit a try. I see where it can not make motion menus? If this is the case, then I have a question. My menu is a background image I came up with. Menu links are buttons I made. Once the DVD is made, how will I know what menu is selected once the DVD is put into the player? If you cant tell what button is selected, whats the point? Also, if this is the case, what DVD Authoring program is as simple as DVDit and does what I need? Thanks in advance..

    I'm not following you.

    Test with a DVD-RW/+RW disc.

You will know what menu button is selected as it will be highlighted in a lighter color. Depress your DVD players remote controller curser buttons left, right, up or down and you will see your menu links light up. You may wish to burn your movie onto a re writable DVD disk to see if your movie works correctly. Work your mistakes out this way and save some money. Ulead Movie Factory is another similar Authoring program in that class you may wish to explore.

May I also suggest you read through the DVDit help files thoroughly before posting a question of this nature. Read the forums for hours first if you have to.

  5. Thanks alot. I couldnt find an answer for that and have no dvd-rw laying around. So, what would you consider better, Ulead MovieFactory or DVDit? Or, would Ulead Workshop be worth the extar money?

Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 is very easy to use and has some basic features, DVD Workshop is a little more advanced but is still not that hard to learn to use.

It all depends on, What is your definition of better, Faster, eaiser to use, more options, etc.

  9. for me, better quality and ease of use. speed not all that important. options are important, but i do not need all the options of a professional dvd authoring package... considering all this, and you had the funds, which one to get? dvdit, movie factory, or ulead workshop?

If you don't have hi speed internet, just find a friend who does. Have them download trial versions of the programs you mentioned and make the decision from there. Try them before you buy them.
