Usually when this happens, the transcoding is failing. If you read the log in the notepad, it will probably tell you what has happened.

I use the latest version 1.5b23 and have been able to convert .WAV to .AC3 format with varied success. Just make sure you have a FULL version -- with all the necessary DLL's. The log file will tell you if you're missing some.

You may have to install an older version, then add the new files.

  3. Yes, there's a known problem with lots of different dll's required, and if you miss some, BeSweet will error out.
Personally, I use the AC3MACHINE front end GUI for BeSweet. I've got it set up so that all I have to rename my WAV file and press GIVE ME AC-3 and it works automatically. AC3MACHINE is highly recommeded (available from www.doom9.org or from a link on the tools section at this site.)

Be sure to get the ac3enc dll

Or use my ffmpeggui to convert to ac3 audio (also based on the ffmpeg ac3 encoder that besweeet/ac3machine uses).

    Baldrick,

I've read (somewhere) that BeSweet doesn't produce 100% ac3 output. Especially when used in some Pioneer stand-alone DVD players. Is this correct?

    If so:

    1. Why use it?

    2. What else is there that is 100% reliable?

    Cheers.
