  1. I am making a compilation of clips and was looking for a way to add text to the lower left hand side of the screen like in music videos. I only want it for a few frames. Is there any easy way to do this???

Video Studio does it with subtitles. So does Virtual Dub with Sub Station Alpha and the subtitler filter. Just two to start you off.

  3. Do you have to do it in a subtitle format with these programs or can you do it how I described -- in the lower left hand corner? Also, is there a guide to doing it with Virtual Dub? -- nevermind I found one that might help...

  4. There are several guides on the left about subtitles in VirtualDub.

With the filters in that app, you can customise the subtitles in terms of font, size, position etc.. etc.. so you should be able to do what you want.

  6. I have a similar problem about adding subtitles or comments a few seconds long. It is for audio compilations in DVD. I need to show the title of each song in the screen for a few seconds.

Actually, I am encoding a short AVI file with the text title together with a WAV file in order to get a MPEG file (in deep description of the procedure can be found at http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/index.html#vcd in the VideoCD Audio + Titles guide).

Is there any simpler way to do it? Thanks in advance. Bye.
