  1. Help!! I am one of the poor schmucks to upgrade to Instant Copy 8 while having Nero 6 installed. Instantcopy killed 3 DVD+RW's of mine. After writing a disc they don't do anything now. When I pop em in the drive, any burning software reports "media not inserted" (Nero 5.5, Nero 6, Instantcopy, and DVD Decrypter.)

I'm too poor to replace my RW's, and physically they look fine. Is there any software, or a way to do an erase while overriding the disc detection??

  2. if u hav a friend with a dvd burner, try rewriting w/ his...

It cant be a coaster if its re-writeable, right

  3. I'm thinking it shouldn't be a coaster either. I am currently able to burn R's, and have written to my RW's many times before, so I think my burner is OK. It's probably the format of the disc, so I'm thinking taking it to another drive won't matter. Will try as last resort.

Any reg hacks or something to bypass the disc detection to erase??

Alcohol 120 % has a function to by-pass Illegal TOC. Might want to give it a try if you can . Not sure if they have a demo or not but probably do.

I've successfully full-erased some faulty DVD+RWs with DVD Decrypter where the drive couldn't recover TOC.

  7. Doh! I tried DVDdecrypter again, the write button is greyed out, and I didn't see anything under tools to help. I also tried Alcohol 120%, and set it to ignore TOC errors, with no luck. It still just reports back that there is no disc in the drive.

In Alcohol 120%, the disc info reports No Disc, but correctly identifies other discs.

How about a right-click on source drive?

If you get an error message, just click cancel, the drive will probably start erasing.

  9. It didn't work. I get an IOerror that there is no disc when I try that.
Thanks the tip, I was looking in tools. Never knew you could right click on the drive.

  10. Oh yeah I can keep hitting retry, and the error will keep popping up. After I hit cancel nothing happens.
