I am X, not that I don't believe you, but out of curiosity what company did you call?

When you buy a Compaq, the "Intel" CPU in it may be a cheaper component. This as opposed to an authorized seller like Dell that gets the top-class parts.
Ritek may try to always give 100% perfect products, but those not doing it get lower grades, 95% products or whatever, and then sold to other people that won't put the RITEK name on it.
They do exist, they just don't tell you. Especially not Ritek. You'd have to find different sources for such info.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Ritek for cheap!!
I have been doing a lot of research and I believe that www.recordablemedia.ca is the best place to buy your media. Their customer service guy told me that they are currently running off of a temporary site but will be having an official grand opening in the near future. They have Ritek 4x going for $1.55 for a hundred, and that he's willing to beat anyone's prices in Canada. -
They have Ritek 4x going for $1.55 for a hundred,
I'll take 2,000 at $1.55/100
$1.55 each by the 100 though sounds high to me!
If I recall correctly I think I paid $1.35 each or there abouts when I bought a 25 pack of them. I don't use 4X though since I have a 2x burner, tried a few and put them back to have on hand when I buy my 4x burner since I have to mail order everything here in the boonies. Mostly I am burning 2x printables. -
he lives in canada so 1.55 per disk might be good.
in USA 99 cents per disk is more the average good price per hundred...99 dollars.
or 55 dollars per 50 pack.
with FREE shipping. -
www.pcclub.com has 25 pack of Ritek G04 4x DVD-r for 19.99. They only allow 1 per customer, but still a nice price. I bought 2 sets before the set the limit.
-
Uh they charge like an arm and a leg to ship those dvdrs. What's the point of getting them from pcclub? Even though it says limit one I put 4 in. By fedex ground it's going to cost me $34.00 to ship. That's a total ripoff on shipping. This a good deal for those ppl able to purchase them in person but you're really not getting that price online.

flanman,
I agree with zanos. shop4tech.com offers a 50-pk Ritek at $47.50 + free shipping. Even if PCClub.com offer you more than 1, it will charge $14.00 to ship two (2) 25-pk to Nebraska, and so: 2x19.99 = 39.98 + 14 S&H = $53.98, which is $6.48 more than shop4tech. Now, if you live in New York, PCClub will charge $20.00 to ship the two 25-pk, and so we have to pay $59.98 for the total price, and that's a $12.48 more than shop4tech.
Now, if you buy only 1, then PCClub charges you $8.00 to ship a 25-pk to Nebraska, and when you divide $8.00 to 25 DVDs, we will have a S&H of $0.32 per DVD. Now, if you live in New York, it will charge $11.00 for S&H, which will make $0.44 of S&H per DVD. Well, I think that's not a very good value.
Cheers, -

In fact , i did have a problem with them (which was my MISTAKE) and they worked with me, even called on phone a week or two later to make sure everything was done right.
I have also had very good experience with Newegg.
I also read the problem in the other thread on meriline and the guy that POSTED it seemed like a JERK to me (because he just ranted and when offered help, he just continued ranting and ranting and ranting)!
When the Meritline Member said he would help the guy, ... the FIRST POSTER, still complained because the Meritiline guy didn't know who he was .... like this guy knows every costumer they have!
I like Newegg because the shipping method seems better and the Email system seems better, but Meritline seems to be getting a bum rap IMHO!
P.S. I use the same standard when I go to the DVD Writer area and see the ratings of the different writers and read the comments .... I bought the Pioneer a06 and have had no problems with it and it gets around a 8.7 rating from all of us .... I read the comments and most LOVE it ...but their are a few who give it a rating of 1 or 2 ... and say the writer SUCKS! I go by what the majority say ... same as with meritine! The guys that give it a 1 or 2 most of the time don't know what they are doing, you can see it in what they say ... but sometimes, YES, it may be a DOA burner ... but if the guy get 3 burners and they all have the same problem, and most don't have that problem... it could be his computer, his software or his media! -
Treebeard,
You from Nebraska? -
Always SuperMediaStore.com. I just bought 100 Pack Ritek 4X DVD-R for $89 via $5 off coupon "r5off". I live in NY. The ground shipping charge is $7.05. so the total is $96.05. The best price I can find.

I bought Riteks from Meritline and they arrived right away. That's just my 2 pennies on a good experience with Meritline.
