  1. Hi to everybody.
I have an ATI RADEON 64 DDR VIVO with 7200 chipset.
I've been using this card to capture from VCR and CAMCORDER (VHS-C) for some time before finding this problem:

When acquiring from a VHS-C tape (both through a VCR and VIDEOCAMERA) I experience sudden drops or peaks of brightness. This phenomenon is very annoying and compromises the whole quality of the recording. The capturing defects occurr apparently randomly (sometimes 4-5 times in 20 seconds) and last for about three four frames. Does anyone know if this issue is related to hardware, software, or quality of recording? I'm not sure, but it seems that the phenomenon did not occurr in the first months of usage of the card.

Thanks to everybody for the help

Sounds to me like the ATI is detecting macrovision, although if it's a VHS-C (camcorder) tape there's unlikely to be any.
Search macrovision + ATI in the forum, I seem to remember seeing a fix of some kind.
    Good luck

A TBC is the easy fix. Hacked drivers are the other ones. For that precise problems, you'd need the hacks that were talked about in a ATI 8500DV thread earlie this month... a guy was working on this and seems to have found the answer.

    Seems that way sometimes.

I'm planning a vacation ... and I may be offline for a month ... guess I'm just getting in my last few shots on the site.
