    What did I do wrong?

When I select a button, I see under "Button Link" that it seems to be pointing where it should, but when I burn the DVD all the buttons take me to the start of the video.

Is there a way to preview it fully? I can preview the menu, but nothing happens when I click on a button. Even if I turn on "Follow Links", all it does is pull up the "Movie 1" window and doesn't actually show me what part of the movie will be played.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. You don't happen to have a chapter point near the beginning of the movie do you? I used to have this problem when I thought I had to set the first chapter point somewhere around 00:00:00:15. If I set a chapter point that earlier in the movie I had the same problem you are having. DVDLab automatically makes the movie start chapter 1. If you have a chapter really earlier in the movie try removing it and see if that does the trick.

No, first chapter point is about 9 minutes in. Weird....

    Thanks for responding.

  4. Hiyas. I know the original post is an old one but I am having exactly the same problem. My chapter links to the first movie (a VOB file) all work, but any links to chapters within the 2nd movie/VOB file only link to the start of the 2nd movie/VOB file.

It's still doing it with beta 4. Is there any intention to support chapters in more than one movie?

I can't seem to get a program to rip DIVX/XVID -> VOB files bigger than 1gb (it's because that is out of the DVD spec yeh?) so it's annoying. The only solution I can think of is to use a VOB joining program and link through that but it's going to require a fair bit of editing in the DVD project in DVDLab so I was posting to see if there was an easier solution or if anyone had any other suggestions???

  6. I guess you have to let DVD-lab demux the VOBs. That takes a really long time though.

  7. I see the latest version allows you to to join VOBs without demuxing.

  8. The m2v's probably does not have a correct GOP timecode. Demux any VOBs and look at the attributes of it in the assets window. If you see '0-GOP' that means the timecode (GOP) is hosed.

In DVD lab look at tools->rewrite GOP timecode (or something like that) and rewrite the timecode. You chapters will work fine afterwards (must redefine the chapters).

  9. awlchu: I've demuxed the two VOBs and none of them had '0-GOP' in any of the attributes for the m2v files. Even tried re-writing the GOB as you suggested and re-defined the chapters and the same problem occurs. I've read elsewhere (and in this thread) that other people have said they've had the same problem. Usually it's ok for the first file but not the others. Must be a bug or limitation I think.

  10. Using Beta4 I am able to create chapters in multiple movie objects.

I use the scene wizard to create the chapter menus. Everything work fine.

How do you link to the chapters?

  11. It worked fine for me after demuxing. I created a new project and copied the menu items from the old one.

  12. After creating a new project and dragging the VOBs, both files are now only linking to the start of the movie. I imported the chapters via the text file used to export (the text files themselves only contain time stamps so I don't see how that could be the cause). Dragged the files again and created chapters manually and the 1st movie is working again but the 2nd isn't still.

btw, where is the Scene wizard? I think the way the chapters are created may be the problem. If you mess around with the order or something? I can't work it out.

  13. Look for the icon in the preview window - also search the help file. You'll find it!

I think this was just another bug in DVD-Lab. Although it was an awesome idea, I finally gave up on it because it was too buggy. Besides, I am able to author similar quality DVDs using DVD Workshop 2 much faster! I am grateful to not be fighting bugs anymore.
