i cannot understand why i keep getting sync problems when i convert avi to mpeg. i check the avi file for bad frames using guide by Digi Toast 'fixing bad frames without losing any audio' reckeck file to make sure i have fixed the problem, but when i convert to mpeg using either, tmpg, panasonic encoder, or honestech encoder audio goes out of wack.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong.

I find that some avi files have errors that virtualdub cant find and when the encoding program comes to theses errors what happens is the audio loses sync at that point so you will notice a 5-10(approx) loss in some part till the end.you have to find the error(s) and fix the audio by inserting the amount of audio that was lost with an audio editor. The errors usually look like skewed scenes and snow.Another type of problem i found was gradual sync loss which can be corrected by stretching or shrinking the time line.

  3. Well, I know that you can't convert a avi to mpeg in tmpg with the audio. You have rip the video only in tmpg, and then rip the audio with another progam (I use virualdubmod). Check this site out:

Thats just for audio that tmpgenc cant handle, these avi are a bit different.Problem occurs with any encoder and you dont rip avi video with tmpgenc. You encode the video portion if that what you meant.
