how to re-encode DVD keeping the 5.1 audio???

What can I use to Re-Encode a DVD and keep 1 or more of the original audio tracks? I definately want to keep the 5.1 sound, and maybe a commentary. I want it to look decent, and don't want to use programs like DVDShrink or DVD2One for this because they need to compress 7GB down to 4.7, and they won't turn out too great..

In that case, I would suggest TMPEGenc.

There are a few guides dotted about both here and say doom9.org that tell you how to strip the streams, re-encode the video and re-multiplex the whole lot back together again.

I actually tried TMPGENC already.. but the DVD I burned would play choppy on 2 of 4 players I tested on. Could this be the authoring software I used? I used DVD Lab v1.3

You can save it with DVD2One. It lets you choose what you want to save or you can save the whole DVD without compression. Then you can use DVD Shrink to split the 7gb DVD into 2 DVd's so you can burn to 2 DVDR's

That is true, but the original post clearly says no to both DVD Shrink and DVD2ONE...

The choppy playback is probably your choice of media. However naff remultiplexing and / or data rates over the spec could also be to blame.

Almost forgot ( actually I did forget ) use osex. It will let you choose what you want to keep and it wont recompress and then you can use DVD Shrink just to split what you've kept if it's to big to fit on one DVD.
