I'm trying to use the MPEG Encoder in Premiere to export an AVI file to DVD. I've dowloaded and installed the 1.3 beta upgrade. The source file is a good capture which was made with Premiere and when I encode with TMPGEnc it works perfectly. However, when I try to do it in Premiere 6.5 there is either no picture at all or only part of the video shows up. I would think a capture made with Premiere should work fine when the Adobe MPEG Encoder is used to encode it. The video file (.m2v) is always 863kb when I use Premiere and 27,017kb with TMPGEnc; a huge difference. I've tried a number of different ways of encoding in the Adobe MPEG Encoder and am having no luck. Can anyone help with this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey GordRocks,

Did you uninstall the original Mainconcept encoder v1.1 before you installed v1.3? Mainconcept says that if you don't, it will cause problems. You can uninstall the encoder in the "Add Remove Programs".

Also check you settings in the Mainconcept encoder. Make sure you choose the DVD template and go into the advanced settings. I use Premiere v 6.5 with Mainconcept encoder v 1.3 and it works perfectly. Lately I've been frameserving out of Premiere to Mainconcept standalone v1.4 with equaly great results.

    Good Luck.
