  1. Is there a proggy which will automatically cut a movie or clip so it fits on a CD.. i have a few that are too long.. and i don't trust myself to start chopping just yet!

    There's nothing completely automatic that I know about.

    I don't know what type of movie file you have or what you're doing with it so I'll guess....

    If you're converting to mpeg then TMPGEnc has a source range function which allows you to set which part of the movie to encode. As well, in the bitrate setting window you adjust the bitrate to fill a CD. You can then batch encode to do the entire movie.

    If you simply want to cut an mpeg then TMPGEnc has that function in the mpeg tools section.

    If you want to cut an AVI then Virtualdub does that.

    Look in the Edit section for some guides.
