I do it all the time with RecordNow Max. I put the source DVDR into my Liteon LTD-163 DVD drive and the blank DVD-R into my Sony DRU-500ax then open RecordNow using the wizard and simply click on "copy disc".

PLEASE TAKE THE CAPS LOCK OFF - IT IS CONSIDERED SHOUTING !!
In what whay are they "no good" ? Does the recording fail, or are the copies unplayable ?
It could be the media you're using and not the method. -
I had similar problems with Nero 6.0. On the fly it got to 98% and gave me an error sign. I ejected the disc, put it in my standalone player and it has worked fine ever since. Very strange....
I think i'll try Record Now Max. I got Record Now DX with the Sony DRU-510AK but its shite. Is Max much better? -
Strange, I did that very thing successfully last night with Instant Copy. Perhaps you should look for the problem elsewhere than the burning software?
Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Copying DVD's on the Fly just to save time is not worth it at all. Any Hiccup in reading the DVD that you are trying to copy and you will have a coaster.
Why not just use DVD Decrypter to create an iso then burn the ISO. At least if the DVD is dirty etc.. you will find out in the image creation.
You can also Use instantCopy just make sure that "write to hardrive first" is checked on the Write tab. -

From my experience as well, it's always better to burn from the HD. However, I believe lordsmurf says they prefer a disk to disk copy over a HD burn, but from my experiences and from what i've read, they are in the minority on that one. -
I use nero 6.0.0.23 for burning, and I've not needed a single patch. If you set it up properly and use decent media, you should be able to do a disc to disc copy just fine. Takes about 20 minutes to accomplish. Don't use On the Fly, for it leaves too much up to chance. Use the single drive copy mode.
