  1. Hi!!

Does anybody have any idea how to author DVD -format MPEG2 files to DVD-RAM's .VRO -format?? I've tried to search the web for an answer but i came up with nothing.

DVD-RAM home-players wont recognize the standard file structure that you use normally with DVD+-RW discs.

Can you just merge the files to a big one and rename it to .VRO?? problem here is that the disc has a header file .ifo. can you reproduce that in some way that it matches the merged .vro file??

Has anyone done anything similar to this? I would be grateful for any information

Both of the above applications feature DVD-VR Export Wizards that write to the .VRO file format.

Both of the above applications will also grab raw MPEG video/audio from DVD-RAM discs recorded in popular player/recorders.

I wrote a step-by-step tutorial about how to do this using Ulead MediaStudio Pro and the Toshiba D-R1 player/recorder:

    http://www.jonesgroup.net/msptoshibastepone.htm

Only Ulead MediaStudio Pro supports AC-3 audio along with MPEG AUDIO and LPCM AUDIO.

Ulead VideoStudio supports only MPEG AUDIO and LPCM AUDIO.

By the way, my Toshiba D-R1 will read and record to DVD-R and DVD-RW discs as well as DVD-RAM discs.

So one should be able to author a typical DVD with .VOB files in Video_TS folders and the resulting disc will play just fine in the Toshiba model of player/recorder.

    Hope this helps,
