  1. Hey people, can you guys give me some help: I would like to back up some of my DVDs onto SVCD/VCD since blank DVDs are a little bit too expensive for me. What is the easiest method that you could recommend?

Well you can use TMPGEnc ... or you could try DVD2SVCD which can make things a bit easier.

I'm sure there are guides here on using DVD2SVCD although the few times I used it I think I followed a guide that was on the DOOM9 website.

Even if you use DVD2SVCD you still need either CCE or TMPGEnc as that program merely "sets" things up for you but makes use of one of those programs.

    P.S.
I would stick with SVCD as VCD quality is not very good. But if you have a DVD burner ... well ... that will give you MUCH better quality than even SVCD

  3. The quickest (and most foolproof) method I have found is EazyVcd - you can't go wrong.

  5. Another method that worked well for me: Rip with cladDVD.net, frameserve with DVD2AVI, encode with TMPGenc. There's a guide for it, can't remember by whom, do a search on clad in the guides and look for the one that uses the other tools as well. Easy and free, except SVCD capability is limited to 30 days with TMPGenc, then you must buy it.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
