  1. i've been using tmpeg for more then half of a year and
i've had no problems with it all all...
    untill now,
I was backing up one of my dvd's to svcd,
when all of a sudden my computer blinked out
and restarted, i thought nothing of it...
then i restart tmpeg, and try to load the d2v
and i get this alert message
'file "blah.d2v" can not open, or unsupported'

now i've never seen this message ever in my whole
encoding life, so it freaks me out

can anyone shine some light on the subject,
so i can get back to my encoding?

  2. What version are you using ? A mate of mine has experienced something similar to this !
Try downloading the latest version from mpegx.com

from the way it sounds, the file became corrupted when the system rebooted. Of course the question is what made the system reboot. There are many factors in that one. You might have to rip the file again, also you may want to reinstall tmpgenc just for good measure. Did you let scandisk or another program scan the drive for any corrupt files? There could also be a bad spot on the hard drive and that is what caused the system to drop out and the file corruption. Which there again is a good idea to scan the hard drive also check how fragmented your drive is.

    These are just ideas.

Maybe this is a VFAPI plugin problem ? Check it is active in TmpgEnc... Check your DVD2AVI VFAPI plugin too... To be sure install both tmpgenc+VFAPI & DVD2AVI+VFAPI in the same folder ... Maybe that's the problem...
