  1. I have used DVD Decryptor to copy the contents of a region 2 DVD and then used DVD Shrink to supposedly create a region 1 version of the files. Once burnt to DVD-RW my standalone player (Region 1) still believes there is a region mismatch on the DVD. I have used the same procedure with Region 1 originals and the standalone player will play them as expected which eliminates issues with the process. Are there other region markers in the files that are not updated with DVD Shrink? How do you properly convert to a different region? I have also tried making Region free versions of the same DVD with the same results.

i assume your DVD player is only capable of playing Region 1 titles. Does your DVD player support the playback of PAL dvds. this could be the issue. the original region 1 dvds are obviously in NTSC format, while the region 2 dvds are PAL. even if you changed the region code to region 1 (or made it region-free) the dvd is still in PAL format.

Make sure you DVD player is capable of palying PAL dvds. if it does, then im not sure of what the problem could be.

  3. That could be the problem but it is displaying the error message associated with the incorrect region. I'll recheck the docs it is a PAL format DVD.
