Since the latest update to AV from www.avast.com reports cygwin1.dll infected with Win32.Trojan-gen.

Sounds like it could be a generic false alarm, so have mailed them to let them know. Will let you know as soon as I get a response.

Can anyone confirm the false alarm with another AV product?

Can confirm that my Avast shows the same problem, cygwin1.dll showing as a trojan.

Interested to see what they say. My protection suite doesn't have a problem with it.

If you install the latest cygwin from www.cygwin.com SVCD2DVD will overwrite cygwin1.dll that is bundled with the one from cygwin.
