  1. Hi,

Can somebody please put me out of my misery and find a solution or explanation for the following problem!

I recently purchased a SONY DRU-510AK. please notice the "K" at the end as i have not seen this listed or mentioned on the site as of yet. I have been treating it as a 510A when looking up info on here.

Anyway, i have been making perfect backups of my DVD collection for a few days now with no errors using DVD Shrink and then burning with Nero 6. Everything has been hunky dory except for the odd PMA error but this has never caused a coaster yet. Just usually requires a reeboot then another attempt at burning.

So as i have said i have been getting along great with no problems until today. I decided to make a backup of "The Cell". I went about this in the usual manner, opened dvd shrink, did the business and then burnt it with nero 6.0. When i placed it in my player (Alba DVD-114) at first it would not load.

Eventually it did load after several attempts but when it reached the menu non of the choices were highlighted. On the original there are blue brackets on each option you select. On my backup there was nothing. The puzzling bit is that although i cannot see what i have selected the menu still functions perfectly. I can press down three times and i KNOW that i am over the "special features" option. When i press enter it go's to the correct section of the dvd.

If i just press play on the first option it plays the film perfectly.

Naturally i assumed i had made an error when shrinking the dvd or something so i started the entire process again. I burnt the disc. Put it in the playe and it is exactly the same.

Everything works but i cant see which menu option is highlighted and its puzzling to say the least.

As petty as it sounds these little things irritate me beyond beleif and i would like to resolve this issue.

P.S I dont know if it makes any difference but the menu's have animation in the background.

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!
