  1. I have a divx movie with a resolution of 640x352 and mp3 audio; I also have tmpgenc 2.5plus. When I load the movie in tmpgenc to burn a dvd the wizard automatically sets the resolution to 720x480; going by the divx to dvd guide. When I start to encode a mpeg2 file it starts off at 22 hours!!! I just finished another movie at the full 720x480 resolution and it took only 7.5 hours. I would like to know why it was taking so long to encode!!! is this normal? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Sometimes the MP3 audio can cause havoc. You might want to try using VirtualDub to extract the audio to a WAV file. Put the AUDIO into FULL PROCESSING MODE and set the compression to 16-bit 48k Stereo PCM audio and then SAVE WAV option. This will convert the MP3 audio to a WAV file.

Now when you load the AVI into TMPGEnc it will auto load as the audio as well but then you click on your audio source and load the WAV file. So TMPGEnc will only take VIDEO from the AVI but take the sound from the WAV file.

    That might fix your problem.

    P.S.
Some people seem to prefer using GOLDWAVE to extract the audio. You simply load the AVI file into GOLDWAVE then save it as a 16-bit 48k Stereo PCM WAV file.
