  1. Converting a DVD consisting of 1 VOB file to SVCD using DVD2SVCD w/ CCE 2.66. The last 2-3 seconds of the movie is cut-off at the end. The VOB file plays fine -- all the way through, but the resulting IMAGE and MPG file all end short.

I've tried using the search tool, but have had no luck. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks !!!

  4. ** Correction **

2 minutes are cut-off of the end of the movie. I have gone to the BBMPEG tab and unchecked the overlap options to no avail. Any help would be most appareicated !!

    Thanks !!

You have to adjust the cq a tiny bit lower to get the extra 2 minutes,dvd2svcd takes its best guess with one pass plus cq encode so if the file size goes over 800mb then it gets cut at that point regardless of how much movie time is left, since you are using 1 cd then you have to be really accurate to get 800 mb.

  6. 50 minutes on 1 CD at 1 pass is VERY aggressive. That sounds like it may "be" the problem. Try to up the pass by 1 or lower the bitrate (upping the pass #1 should do it though).

Lowering the bitrate wont help or more pass, lower the cq a little bit,ive done this type of encoding many times and its the cq that will lower the file size.

  8. Thanks for the replies. I will certainly give the recommendations a try. I failed to mention that I am using D2SRoba to determine the CQ and bitrate for One Pass Variable BR. In the future when this occurs, I will use D2SRoba to calculate the values for me and then manually configure DVD2SVCD to adjust the CQ value to a slightly lower quality setting.

In the mean time I have used D2SRoba/DVD2SVCD to encode the movie for 2 CD's of 375MB each with no offset and then used TMPGenc to join the 2 MPG files for burning with Nero.

I certainly do appreciate the info., and will use the recommendations for future conversions. In most of my cases, the quality is secondary, as I am burining SVCD's of kid shows for my 4 year old, whom despite the fact that she is very bright and can operate her DVD player ( I know -- spoiled rotten!), she does not quite understand the concept of PART1 and PART2 -- yet!

Thank you all so much !!

    Richard
