  1. I've been considering buying a miniDV camera and want something small. The JVC GR-DX75US looks like a nice size and is quite a bit cheaper than Sony's offerings which I really can't afford. I like the form factor of the GR-DX75US vs the standard cameras like the GR-DX70.

One thing I'm interested in is a "Analog passthrough" I think it's called. Basically I want to bypass having to use my TV capture card in order to dub my VHS movies to my computer. I don't understand how it all works, but apparently only certain cameras can do it directly, while others require you to actually record the VHS to the miniDV tape and then transfer. I read the JVC manual and I'm still unsure as to weather the camera supports it. I also looked into he Canon Elura 50 which is of a similar form factor and about $50 more in price. I believe the Elura has that feature. Can anyone shed some light?
