here in Germany, we just had an article from a well known magazine 'Stiftung Warentest' announcing the PANASONIC DVD S35 EG (Price approx. EUR 109,- = USD 115,-) as one of the best players.
What do you think? Which player seems to play most of the 1000s different formats (VCD, S-VCD, Video-CD-2.0 Format, MP3, ID3-Tracks, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-Audio, SACD etc.)???
Pls. let me know. Thank you!

you have two different questions really ... BEST , meaning best picture quality or BEST meaning playing the most formats .... or BEST to do do both which would be NOT the best picture quality or most formats compromise ...."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
simply as I've been asking: 'best' range of formats & standards (for the future).
You also need to consider:
S-Video Output? (or is it jsut composite?)
Stereo out or full 6-channel output?
Internal DTS decoder?
Internal downmix of AC5.1 to stereo (if just sterreo out)?
And that doesn't cover any compatabilities what so ever.
And a big one, ISO reading of MPEG files. To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
No objections, so what HARDWARE do you recommend???
