  1. I wanted to know the some software to use for backing up dvd's, ps2 games, and donwloaded movies. So I just wanted to know if there was a group of programs that can do this. Becouse downloading fifty diff programs is leaving me no room to actually copy the material.

  2. For DVD and PS2 you can get away with just using DVD Decrypter and Pinnacle InstantCopy.

    You wouldn't need anything else.

    Edit:
Oops, I missed the "downloaded movies" bit (which you should be careful about mentioning). You will need an encoder such as TMPGEnc for them to make them into MPEG2 files. You'll find lots of guides here.

"Downloaded Movies" is too broad. It covers way to much for a general program. You will probably need:

GSpot and AVICODEC for identifying what you actually have.
VDUB for checking for bad frames, stripping audio.
    VDUBMP3 for VBR Audio.
AC3fix for dealing with AC3 Audio.
TMPGENC or CCE for encoding to MPEG2 (or one of the others, but these 2 are standard and not free).
Some type of Authoring Program if you are makeing DVD's. Nero can make VCD/SVCD by itself from MPEG's.
IMG Tools and Daemon Tools for making sure you didn't fubar anything.
Some burning app (NERO or Recordnow are pretty common).

You may also want BeSweet+GUI for encoding AC3 sound.
