  1. Hi - When I open SmartRipper I'm getting an error message that says

    'no ASPI-Adaptor available'

Does anyone know what this means??

    Thanks for your help

  2. GOOD NEWS...IF YOU ARE RUNNING WIN XP YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ASPI DRIVERS FROM ADAPTEC TO DO THE JOB...AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. WIN XP DOES NOT COME WITH GENERIC ASPI.

I recently started using Smartripper and on the download page is listed a thread in a forum that answers this question

Go into the Nero folder and copy the WNASPI32.DLL file, place the copy in the Windows/System32 folder.

  5. Look in tools on this site and download ForceASPI then run it one time, problem solved.

I used to have the same problem a while back and I did the same thing suggested and it worked like a charm.

  7. I have Windows Xp running and none of that worked on my computer. I finally found a program that could pull aspi settings off and save them. I took them off of my other computer moved them over the network and put them on this one and now it works fine. The interesting thing is that 2 of the files are the newest version and the other two are slightly outdated. When i tried to install all newer aspi's it didn't work. forceaspi didn't work either. kinda strange i think ...

I think so too. All methods listed here have worked for me at one point or another, but my recommendation would be ForceASPI, mainly because it has ASPIcheck with it.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  9. ok i found i already have aspicheck on my computer. i ran it, and it shows that i have these 4:

    aspi32.sys - ver. 4.71.2
    wowpost.exe - ver. 4.6 (1021)
    wnaspi.dll - ver 4.6 (1021)
    wnaspi32.dll - ver 4.71.2

i was wondering if running these layers could damage my drive? sometimes other non-dvd discs "hang up" while running.

That's what I've got. No issues here.
    If in doubt, Google it.
