Does anyone use an Mpg2 hardware Decoder?
I want to build a good PC for divx to dvd-r conversion...![]()

I have a Sigma Designs Hollywood+ hardware decoder which supports mpeg1 and mpeg2 but not divx. It works great on DVD playback and the TV picture is really nice.
If you also want to play divx maybe you should look at the Xcard:

To covert DivX to DVD you decode the DivX and encode the MPEG 2 so a hardware decoder tor MPEG 2 will not increase your speed.
You need a hardware encoder such as the Matrox .X100 which I believe has a codec that uses hardware encoder.
