Hi,

After months of trying to get a decent capture from my card I have had enough! I would be very gratefull if anyone could possibly shed any light on this problem before I bin my card. I am using an --
Asus 9520 Video Suite
Athlon 2500
Gigabyte K7 Triton GA-7N400-L1 Mboard
512mb Ram
Win XP

Using Sony digital Handycam TVR 19

Initially I could capture with Many programs such as : Adobe Premier 6.5, Power Director Pro,Virtual Dub,AVI-io,ULEAD VideoStudio6 with no more problems other than interlacing, jerky movements & dropped frames. However when I put my captured frames onto the timeline(of any program)the thumbnail appears black and displays no video picture. I can edit my footage but cannot add transitions, render or even export a clip because then the video playback is completely black?. So it is OK untill I try and get the computer to process my captured footage in any way. I put my settings to no compression, without sound & tried all different resolutions and speeds - same prob persists. I have also tried the following drivers :

WDM ver.1.04 -result : no capture device detected (by all programs)
WDM ver.1.08 -result : captures but black thumbs,no preview.
WDM ver 1.19 -result : captures but black thumbs,no preview & video plays very fast when playback capture
WDM ver 2.14- result : captures but only if u select "composite" as the device instead of SVIDEO which I have connected. Strange thing about this is I don't even have a composite lead connected and it captures although only in black & white. If u select SVIDEO =black screen & no capture?

Have also tried ver: 45.23, 52.16 and earlier of the display driver packs, HDD format & fresh windows install, All imaginable display tweaks & options etc.

BTW ,if I capture as mpeg format this problem does not occur but the quality isnt good. Only an AVI prob.

At this very point have given up. Maybe someone out there can help me with this but if not I will bin this useless card and purchase a DV firewire instead (which I regret not doing in the first place).

Really appreciate any help at all, Thanks.
