    Have searched the forum to my understanding and not found any advice on readily available methods to copying dvd to dvd-r using the mac os.. Anyone out there with a link or advice on the solution to my problem..

    You should have posted this in the Mac Foruom. Anyhow, you need DVDBackup to rip the DVD, and DVD2OneX to compress the ripped files to fit on a dvd-r. Go to the Mac Forum for more results. Hope this helps.
