I've been testing the Napa 311 I have found some issues about this player...
If I directly encode a video directly from the source in vcd format with no additional encoding it plays great with very little jerking. But, if I have a high quality capture and use re-encoding programs like Tmpeg, it jerks horrobly, though it plays beutifuly on my Philips DVD 711.
I guess the Napa 311 wasn't programed to play VCD photos because the player did reconized the disc but stayed on the Napa startup screen.
Playing MP3's through the TV sucks but other than that through the headphones it sounds great!
Does anyone have any tips for making better VCD's for the Napa?

Unfortunately, it seems that all portable players suck ass when it comes to play VCDs...

I guess this my cause ... I continue to post my two cents worth every time a new thread is started.
I've found the key to good video playback on Napa/Tanky/Waitec VCD players:
. output bitrate at 1123kbps
. use a small group of pictures; in TMPGEnc I use a setting of 1-2-1-1 (the last "1" is important for entrypoints)
. use an authoring program like videopack 4; vcdimager should also work fine, but i have not yet tested a vcdimager disk in the napa (on my to-do list for next couple of weeks)
