  1. I know this has been discussed many times. From the links I follow I'm not finding the answers to my questions. I am trying to backup a DVD movie. I want to retain the different audio options (2.0 and 5.1), get rid of the subtitles and extras, but keep the menus. What is the best/easiest way to go about this?

  3. DVD Shrink will do what you want and it's free. You can compress the main movie up to 70% of its original size without any noticeable loss in quality. For more reduction is size, Pinnacle's Instant Copy 8, or IC8, will do just fine.

DVD Shrink can be used for ripping directly from the original DVD, and it's fast. If you want to keep the main movie without the extras and menus, in its re-author mode, it will allow you to trim the credits from the end of the movie. A great, great software.

DVD Shrink in the re-author mode will not allow you to keep the menu.

  5. CloneDVD will do what you are asking to do. It's easy to use, but costs
~$50 USD. Personally I like DVDShrink, it's free and easy to use, but as stated if you reauthor a title you loose the menu's
    Good Luck,

It´s important to understand the question post by BLaRG.

    Only soundforbjt opinion is correct.

BLaRG needs re-author mode to put all in only one 4.7 DVD and keeping the menu (audio, subtitles and extras).
With DVD Shrink that´s not posible.
    Bye.

CloneDVD allows you de-select extras, select audio anr subtile streams. It will do what the original poster wants.

  10. MenuEdit is another option. It can remove bits and pieces you don't want to see on your backup.
