    two quick questions:
    1. How can I change my USB 1.1 to a 2.0 ??
    2. What card do I need to download old vcr tapes to hard drive and then burn to cd. ????????

    1 you will need to upgrade your hardware either a new mainboard as most come with USB 2 on them now or buy an add in card with USB 2 on it They are about AU$40 give or take

    2 Oh dear this is a big question again you will need to purchase hardware a capture card

    Take a look through the Capture Cards section of the left here

    Other than just going from vcr to cd
    Do you want to play the "cd" in a dvd player or just play it on your computer
    Much more info from what you want to do required for that question
    also what your approximate budget is
    and where you are in the world - some cards aren't available world wide

    OK, more info:: I have a Dell 4100, 1gHZ, 256 Ram, 60 hard drive, windows ME, build in DVD player, cd-rom, Plextor 48x burner, two 1.2 USB ports & work on Road Runner.. I would like to get my old VCR tapes onto cd's,, be able to watch tv and listen to radio also on the computer, my Sony VCR have RCA input and output jacks. I think that is about everything..
