  1. now this might not quite be the right forum for this, so please forgive me.

I'm having a problem with creating compilation cds.
Everything used to work perfectly, but now everything is fine for the first half of the cd, and then everything becomes distorted and crackly, eventually the cd stops playing altogether.

I've tried burning at slower speeds (using nero), but this hasn't made much difference.

Any ideas what may be causing this, and any solutions?

  2. Chances are you have the 'normalise all audio files' checked.
You'll find this option in the add files section of nero...

  4. No that's not the answer - the box was unchecked

  5. aha! did a quick check on google under "distorted cds".
The box to normalise all files is in nero express - which i don't use, but was installed onto my system when i upgraded.
I have now unchecked the box, so let's see.
