  1. I just bought the Imation disks that were on sale at OfficeMax that people were talking about (10 for 10 bucks with mail in rebate). They're 2.4x DVD+R disks (at least, 2.4x on my burner, doesnt mention speed on the box). Heres my problem:

So far, my standalone has been able to play cheap DVD+RW and DVD-RW disks. DVD-Rs are not recognized, and COMPUSA brand DVD+R's playback 2 seconds and then freeze.

These imation disks play fine on the computer, but in the standalone they glitch constantly! Is it the drive, is it nero, is it the disks? Anybody tried?

It may be the + format and not the disk causing the compatability.

Will - format disks play in the standalone?

  4. +RW plays perfectly, I just dont want to spend more money on a rewriteable!

-RW also works, with minor glitches, prolly from the media

    +r has major glitches

-r (only tried one brand) is not recognized

    I have a DMTECH player....cheapo....anyone have it?

Good that it plays on your Sony but compatibility with that media code isn’t great I’ve tested it.
