1-I am backing up some of my older original DVDs
2-Have been using Shrink 3.5 Beta with no problem- until now:
3-Dvd (Man Who Woould Be King) &(The Right Stuff)
4-Both movies are DVD5 with movie split on both sides of DVD side A-B
5-Each side is about 3gigs long
6-But each side A & B are named the same: Vts_01_0.vob...
7-How can I combine both A & B sides and burn on 1DVD
8-Can I use Shrink (could not find any thing with Shrink that would let me?
9-If not Shrink what program is needed and link to a guide of same
--Thanks

have you tried ripping side A to one folder in IFO mode to the hard disk using DVD Decrypter
then rip side B to a different folder
Open DVDShrink
Open the files in side A by opening one of the IFO's
Once it has analysed them Click Reauthor
Drag the part of the movie which was just analyzed to the re-author winodw
Open side B in the window you opened side A in
Drag the second part of movie to the Reauthor window which has the first part of the movie.

Are they DVD10's or is one side 4:3 and the other 16:9? I've never actually seen a DVD10......
To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
movie freak:
-I tried using Decrypter, both in file & ifo mode;however the problem is that all the files on Side A & B have the same names:
VTS_01_VOB_01..VTS_01_VOB_02..VTS_01_VOB_0..etc;
-the ifo, bup files have the same names
-so you have 2 folder with files that have the same names.... -Shrink would not let me merge the two folders
-I am missing something?
-Somehow, I have got to change the names in one folder before I can merge
-looked at info edit and played with it but it did not work as well but that may be my poor knowledge base with ifo edit
-I read some guides on ifoedit and still did not prevail
-Their must be some prog that will do this
-thx for your reply

Gazorgan:
-Both sides are the same move 16:9
-I have never seen dvd's like this before
-If you just use one side and burn you will only get 1/2 of the movie
-And I would hate to use 2 blanks on a movie that is only 5.5 gigs
-thx for your reply-change is absolute- -
@2alien
you have a D10 dvd. other examples of D10s are It's a Wonderful Life, Jason and the Argonauts (1961), etc.
a dead giveaway is the dvd has no marks (image, lettering) on it. but take a look at the rim of the hub. it will tell you (in letters) something about the movie on the OPPOSITE side of what you are looking at.
to answer your question...
you would place both versions of the movie on one blank the same way you would put 2 movies on one blank with Shrink. rip both sides in full, each into its won folder on the hdd. re-author bringing each title to the window. compress using Deep analysis...burn.
Note: you will not have functional menus if you included them in the re-authoring window. they will just play as movies. must use authoring prog to re-create them. good luck. -
@2alien, if you're still not sure how to do it:
http://www.dvdshrink.info/re-author-v3beta5-advanced.php
This guide shows you how to do it if you have two dvd drives.
If you only have one, use DVD Decrypter to rip one of the discs first.
Just make sure you use "File" mode and select all the files, as described here.
