  1. i downloaded winxp and it's full name is winxp.iso.exe. when i click on the application a dos box opens and then closes very quickly. Any ideas? thank alot for any info you can give.

  4. rename to winxp.iso then burn that as a "image" using what hever burning app you have...if not, you can get something like Isobuster or Winimage which will extract the files out of the image a la winzip.

  5. I'd only recommend getting the Devilsown version of Winxp
    cause i'v heard of stories that most of the WinXP versions contain spyware and other stuff.

  7. Most good burning apps will AUTO select which mode when it reads the image, well Nero does...and if you select the wrong mode, it will tell that you "selected the wrong mode, do you want XXX to change it for you"....but usually mode 1, 2048 bytes.

  8. if you got your's from a similar source to me it's probably a self extracting zip(btw mine did have a virus in it), you need to install a zip extracting util then extract it, the iso is inside.

    if you notice strange windows popping up(virus) give me a shout.

    if you burn your own cd's steer well clear xp is a nightmare for burning.
