  1. Hi

I have some svcd files in my system. My DVD player doesn't support svcd's. So I am trying to convert these svcd files to vcd format.

Luckily, I found the VCD trick posted in this site. So I tried to use this. It worked excellent with the first 2 movies or so. Then I started getting this problem.

When I multiplexed the file(change the header to vcd) and play it in my computer, plays well. But when I burn (using Nero) the VCD and play it in my DVD Player, I have this AUDIO SYNC problem.

This is happening with most of the files.

PS: When I looked at the properties of the mpeg file using AVICodec or any application as a matter of fact, I see the following

    Video : 0.0 B, 2530 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 480*480 (16:9), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported

    Audio : 0.0 B, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported

I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem or not.

Why am I getting the AUDIO SYNC problem only after I burn the vcd ? Am I missing any codecs (to burn) ? Any format issues ?

Can someone please help me solve this problem... I can clear a lot of my hard disk space if someone can help me solve this problem..

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Just a small addition. When I checked the properties using AVICodec, I found the following also :

    Audio : 0.0 B, 128 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported

    Thanks

If you started with standard SVCD files, shouldn't your audio have been 44100? Have you changed it separately along the way? How did you do it?

Could be, you just changed the header on the audio as well as the header on the video. Can't do that. Have to do a good Sample Rate Conversion.
This could account for the sync probs.

  4. That was the format of my original svcd file that I downloaded. Almost all svcd files have the same format.

The VCD Trick I followed was...

    - Open TMPGenc.
    - Open MPEG tools
    - Simple Multiplex
    - Select the SVCD file that I wanted to change the header
    - Select MPEG-1 Video-CD as type
    - Hit RUN.

Do I need to do anything else for the kind of svcd files I have ?

If I need to change the audio rate, how should I do it ?

    Thank you
