  1. I have 9.98(Roughly 10gb) of dvd mpg that i want to put on two dvds.

    Should I

    1) Make 1 dvd 4.7gb and shrink the rest(5.28gb) to 4.7gb using DvdShrink.
    2) Go all out and make the entire 10gb to 4.7gb to fit on 1 dvd.

P.S: Will the quality be heavily dropped if i use either method?

  2. shrinking the full file to one disk is going to really cut down on quality. I'd split it in half and shrink each part just a little bit to fit on a disk so you have minimal loss to both parts.

    Greetings,

    For what it worths:
I would try different compression softwares like instantcopy, nero recode, etc and compare the quality. When I back up dvds and I really care about the quality, I always do tests and I found out the output quality can vary a lot. Sometimes, it may be excellent with Instantcopy and bad with dvdshrink. Some other times, it can be exellent with dvdshrink and bad with nero recode.

I found out Instantcopy is not so good with high compression but dvdshrink has a lot less blocs than instantcopy.

    Thank you
