  1. Im converting a movie that i think is MPEG to go on a DVD. I used 4 programs in this order. I used VDUB, then TMPEG, the BeSweet GUI, and also TMPEG dvd author. When i was done doing the encoding and played the DVD the sound started off good but progressivly the timing got worse and worse throughout the movie. I would aprreciate any input you may have on this topic, thanks.

If you encoded from pal to ntsc or vice versa then you will get this problem or if there was an error with besweet encoding it at a different rate.

i wouldnt check that if your source is 44.1,it really screws up things,i use goldwave to convert the file to 48 khz then use besweet.if you converted the file to ntsc then you would have the convert 25fps to 23.976 selected. Also if you use tmpgenc to encode use `do not framerate conversion` should be checked in settings/advanced and ntsc film selected.

Okay, if it's downloaded, and you opened it in Vdub, chances are that it's an .AVI, and not MPEG. Also, chances are, that we have to correct the audio first of all...

Now, within Vdub, go to File>File information, and tell us what video codecs, and what audio codec and samplerate (KHZ) is listed....

FYI, since DVD requires 48000, most people tend to save out their downloaded audio, from its' original 41000hz, and resample to 48000hz. This can be done by either Vdub, or an outside audio editor, like Goldwave or Cool Edit.....Most stretch errors happen because people don't take the extra step to convert the samplerate....

    Good luck.....

Basically, follow these steps. Step three of audio extraction should be 48000hz, since it's DVD you want.

When you open up Tmpgenc, load the saved .wav into audio stream, and load the Divx File in the video stream.

I'm assuming you can take it from here for Tmpgenc. Instead of the VCD templates, you'll need to look at DVD Film.
    Read up the encoding guides..

    Good luck!!!!
