I have an MPEG-1 file, and a WAVE file to match. I want to burn them to DVD. Everything is fine as it is...
BUT when I multiplex them, the video goes double speed (the audio stays normal). This leads me to believe the video is interlaced and is being de-interlaced. But I don't think it is interlaced, which leads me to believe that my authoring progs are doing something wrong. (I've tried IFOEdit and TMPGEnc DVD Author and both do the same thing![]()

)
Any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Try authoring a video only, just to your HD, to see if the problem still occurs.
Open the mpeg video in bitrate viewer (the free version is fine for this) and check it meets the appropriate specs for DVD compliance. -
I have used IFOEdit and burnt with Nero with this problem.
I have also used and burnt with TMPGEnc DVD author and had this problem.
I am assuming this format is compatible, because it was originally in VCD format. Which is a legal resolution and format is it not?
:P -
VCD is almost compatible.
VCD is 325*240/288 (PAl/NTSC)
This is valid for DVD
VCD has audio at 44.1khz sample rate. DVD must be 48Khz sample rate, so you need to upsample the audio.
VCD supports framerates of:
PAL, 25fps - DVD Legal
NTSC, 29.976fps - DVD Legal
NTSCfilm - 23.976fps, not allowed for DVD.
As I said, check the specs of the video.
To put VCD on DVD, take a look at SVCD2DVDMPG -
Source is 352x240 MPEG and I am using a 48Khz WAVE file that I converted. I see no problem with this. I have also had the same problems before when multilplexing MPEG-2 & AC3 to make a DVD.
This is really getting on my nerves now.
Any help is much appreciated. -
