  1. Im authoring with tmpeg dvd author
i am trying sth but haven't been able so far
i want to make a menu which
in the first track there will be my hall movie
in the second and third track selected tracks of the movie in no particular order

tmpeg does not let me link the second and third track to the file of the first track and for that i end up loading the movie file for every track that i make.

Is the a way to do it?
If not is there a program that can manage these kind of jobs?

  2. I'm not exactly sure what your trying to do, but if..

You want the movie cut into pieces for some reason (as it sounds) then just open it cut away what you don't want, then open again and do the same. Do this till you have it all in there as you want.

I did this with a concert I wanted the songs in a different order than taped. I opened the mpeg 2 file, cut out before and after the song I wanted first so only that song was left. Then I did that for each song on the tape I wanted in the order I wanted them.

What I ended up with instead of a hap hazard mismash of songs as the concerts seemed to have been, I got a video of the band rocking hard in the begining and melowing out towards the end like they were getting tired
I hate when they do a fast and frenzy song then a cry in your beer song then fast stuff, so I made it as I wanted

Is that something like you meant?

am a little confused here. when you say track TDA refers to track as a separate movie (a second, third, etc TITLE). if you are trying to make chapter points (scene selections) for A movie that is easily made within the GUI by selecting (clicking) on the black rectangles and insert any clip you wish by moving slider, or the forward/backward buttons. if i'm wrong in what you are trying to do...never mind.

  4. I think she wants to play the first movie then have it followed by a RANDOm choice of any other track on the disc. In my limited knowledge of dvd author it cant be done to generate a random number? or not with any of the easy/cheap/home packages available. I would also like to have a disc with say 5 music tracks and have them all play in random order.

the problel with tmpeg dvd author is that everytime i make new track
it adds MB of the clips i have already put in my first track.
i just want it to link to those not add them again.

I THINK I know what you are doing wrong. When you first open the program in Select Source you'll see there is a TRACK there already on the left. THAT is where your first imported piece of video is going. If you want to add another piece of video WITHOUT making it part of the first piece.....you need to "Add New Track" from the left hand side.....THEN your second piece of video will be added to THAT without being attached to the first one. That way you will have the correct looking menu when you get to that point.
In shorter terms.....every piece of video you add is a TRACK.
    Does that help?
