Hi,
I'm just curious if anyone tried to do SxVCD (352x288 MPEG-2, SVCD compatible) encoding with CCE? Tmpeg is just fine for normal movies, but CG animation isn't so good if I want to do a single CD DVD-RIP (90 mins).
Ps to Sefy: thanx for TMPEG templates)
Regards,
George

You are most welcomed, and i'm glad you find them usefull, personaly I only use my own Templates if I can't fit a movie on a CD using regular VCD
but you always have those annoying movies which are 3 min over the size and you just can't help it
I don't use CCE, but if I ever try it, i'll let you know, I just hate all the "configuration" in that program. brrr...

Hi Sefy,
Even if you not like CCE didn't you know any ripping guide to use with it? (I'm not a beginner, but this frameserving not really working for me).
Ps: 1CD rip of Toy Story 2 SxVCD looks blocky on fast moving sequences, (and characters siluettes are also very blocky sometimes.) I know it's a personal problemI just want to report it to you if you want to improve something
Thx,
George -
Yeah my problem with my standalone player is that I see lots of garbadge in the picture things that doesn't happen when I play it in my pc. Even with your templates of 820 bitrate Sefy. By the way great idea
But when I use CCE the garbadge almost disappears sometimes there is still garbadge ( exacly has it was Macrvision decoding problem ) but has i've said it doesn't appear in the pc. Anybody knows how to solve this with tmpgenc or CCE ? By the way Sefy CCE is much faster even with 3 passes I don't know why you don't like it you just have to save the settings and the next time its already configured
Hey ! Let's be carefull out there :) -
geodvd, I also have Toy Story (both of them) on a single CD, and I don't have any blocks in it, so i'm rather curious as why you are having them ? is that a DVD rip or a DivX conversion ? and which DVD Player do you use?
I have a Pioneer 525 model.
CrazyMike, I just find CCE totaly not user friendly and I don't like messing with programs that are designed for Masters of the Universe, I like being a newbie at all time and have a simple and nice interface with good features.
Speed doesn't bug me so much, takes me about a total of 3 hours from DVD to VCD, and I like the quality I get

Hi Sefy,
Currently I'm using SxVCD (as my player mess up with SeVCD) and 2-pass VBR and audio at 112kbps, and calculate the remaining bitrate for 80min CDs.(That's mean about 1200kbps for TS2) and artifacts are visible on PC and TV too. My player is a Samsung 811. -
Hi geodvd,
What kind of Artifacts are you refering too ? cause from what you've said, you up'd the quality of the SxVCD, so it is even beyond VCD (1150k => 1200k), so i'm presuming that what ever artifacts you may have would also appear if the movie was a regular VCD.
Have you tried playing it back using a Pioneer DVD Player ? i'm not familiar with the playback quality of the Samsung, but I do know the Pioneer has exceptional quality when it comes to VCD playback.
